Medical Examination for Foreign Workers or Maid Checkups

 

Health Screening or Pre-employment Medical Examination for Foreign Domestic Helpers [ FDW ] / maids & other Foreign workers are part of Statutory Medical Examinations required by Ministry of Manpower before they are allowed to work in Singapore. Work Permit will only be issued if they can pass the medical examinations in Singapore. This ensure that they are fit to work in Singapore. That they can start working in Singapore knowing they start off work in a clean slate of health & that they will not endanger themselves or others.

 

The examples of the Types of Statutory Medical Examinations include:

 

MOM Work Permit application (New application/ Renewal)

Employment Pass (EP)

Dependent Pass

S-pass

Permanent Resident Medical

Long Term Visit Pass Medical

Ministry of Manpower Maid Employment Medical Check-up, FDW Work Permit Medical

Six-monthly medical examination ( 6ME ) for maid.

 

All ICA and MOM’s work pass or renewal pass applicants who have been granted the in-principle approval (IPA) will be informed and given a copy of the medical examination form which requires them to undergo a medical examination in Singapore, which normally includes a medical exam by a medical professional to check if they are physically and mentally fit to work.

 

Other tests may be done include blood tests to check for HIV/Syphilis/Malaria Parasite, a Chest X-Ray to check for Tuberculosis, Urine tests to check for pregnancy & sugar levels. Only with a completed medical checkup report that can be easily done at our work permit check up clinic, applicants will be able to submit the application to the Work Pass Division of MOM or Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) with the in-principle approval letter. Applicants who are found to have infectious diseases will not be granted any work permit, employment pass, long-term social visit pass or permanent residence in Singapore.

 

Taxi Driver’s Vocational License & the Private Hire Car Driver’s Vocational License

For Taxi driver & the Private Hire Car driver, we can also help you meet the medical standards set by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) when you apply for the Taxi Driver’s Vocational License (TDVL) or the Private Hire Car Driver’s Vocational License (PDVL). PDVL medical check-up includes a chest x-ray and physical examination.
